Taylor
and Debbie appeared on San Diego 6's morning news on Wednesday,
August 6th to promote the Taylor Hay Day fundraisers held on
August 9th. Click HERE
to see what a great job the did in getting the word out. They also
appeared with the members of HarpCo on the KUSI news on the day
of the show and we will hopefully be getting a link up to that
show as well.
The
final results are in and Suki Hoffman and the Taylor Hay Benefit
Run/Walk raised a whopping $5680 for our largest fundraiser to
date! Taylor was surrounded by
love and support and tons of people sending her good wishes and
walking and running for a great cause. All in all, 180 racers
turned out for the event. The thermometer keeps moving up, but
remember that there is still a long way to go with Taylor just
six months into a very long two year treatment program.
The
benefit concert later that night was also a HUGE success! When
all was said and done, there were gift certificates for dinner,
haircuts and coloring, drink kegs, and even an acoustic guitar
to be raffled off in addition to the 50/50 cash prize which
amounted to $550 to the lucky winner, Steve Holl. Even better,
Steve generously donated his winnings back to Taylor's fund!
Downtown Johnny Brown's didn't just step in at the last moment
to give us a beautiful outdoor venue for our concert, but also
made a generous contribution to Taylor. When the dust settled, $2,692 was raised for Taylor's medical expenses and
there's talk of making the event a semi-annual occurrence. Kudos
go to all three bands and Carrie and Nancy of Tempo Live Events
for making the concert a huge success. Click on the videos
below to see what a wonderful event they created.

In Taylor 2/5 Mile Run/Walk - 8/9/08
A
total of 180 runners and walkers hit the sidewalk at Miramar
Lake for Taylor's benefit race on a beautiful sunny Saturday.
The race came complete with official timer, tons of wonderful,
supportive friends, and wonderful donated food including
hotdogs, chips, water, sodas, and frozen yogurt. The winner of
the 5 mile race won a beautiful skateboard and came in with a
time of just over 30 minutes. We are still awaiting final totals
to add to the fundraising thermometer, but anyone who attended
can tell you what a success it was. Thank you so much to Suki,
her family, and all of the participants and volunteers for
making this race such a HUGE success!
